Multi-Day Paddleboard & Surfboard Rental Terms
Booking & Payment
• Reserve your boards with a USD $10 deposit per board per day.
• The remaining balance will be charged to your card shortly before delivery, or you can pay in cash upon delivery.
• Delivery and pickup are included from Playa del Carmen to Akumal or Puerto Morelos. For locations beyond this area (up to Tulum or Cancún), an extra charge of USD $50 applies — payable in cash upon delivery or charged to your card.
• Delivery and pickup times are coordinated in advance — please be available at the agreed location and time.
Rental Period
• The rental period begins upon delivery and ends when the boards are picked up.
• You may request extensions; please contact us as early as possible to confirm availability.
• Late returns may incur additional charges.
Equipment
• All rentals include the board and leash (plus paddle for paddleboards).
• Life jackets are available upon request at no extra charge.
• The renter is responsible for proper use and care of the equipment during the rental period.
Cancellations & Refunds (please read carefully)
• Full deposit refund for cancellations made more than 7 days before the rental start date.
• 50% refund of the deposit for cancellations made 3–6 days before the rental start date.
• Cancellations within 48 hours of delivery are non-refundable.
• If you return the boards earlier than planned, we can refund any unused rental days, excluding the first two days after we receive your cancellation notice (the first two days will always be charged).
• Refunds apply only to the deposit amount, since the remaining balance is charged shortly before delivery.
• Refunds are issued after equipment inspection and provided the boards are returned in good condition.
• Bad weather or changes in travel plans are not valid reasons for refund. It is the client’s responsibility to check weather and sea conditions before and during the rental period.
Weather & Ocean Conditions
• It is the client’s responsibility to check local weather and sea conditions before using the equipment.
• Aloha Paddle Club is not responsible for unsuitable weather, waves, or wind during the rental period.
• Do not use the equipment during storms, strong winds, or lightning.
Liability & Responsibility
• The renter is responsible for the safe use and return of all equipment in the same condition it was received.
• Any damage, loss, or theft will be charged based on repair or replacement cost.
• Aloha Paddle Club is not liable for accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from misuse, negligence, or unsafe conditions.
• Always use the leash and follow basic ocean safety practices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the most common questions we get asked when clients book our tours.
If you have a question or concern that is not answered here, please contact us directly.
Yes absolutely, no problem. If you have never done paddleboarding or surfing before, we can teach you the basics when we come deliver the equipment.
Of course, everything you do is at your own risk and you will need to sign a waiver which you will receive in your booking confirmation.
We include free delivery and pick up between Puerto Morelos and Akumal. After that we will need to add an extra US $50 to your booking.
Deliveries further than Tulum and Cancun we will need to see if it’s possible for us to deliver there.
Upon delivery of the boards we ask you to check the boards for damage. We will do the same when we pick up the boards and make an assessment on the state of the equipment.
One day rental equals 24 hours. If we deliver the equipment for instance 9 am, with a one day rental we will come pick up the board at 9 am the next day.
We will deliver equipment regardless of the weather. Any days you won’t be able to use the equipment because of the weather, will still be counted as rental days.
We can always pick up the equipment earlier, if that’s your request. We can refund any days minus the day we received the request, plus the first day after we have received the request.
Only requests received by email of text/ WhatsApp are valid.
Let’s hope that doesn’t happen, but of course if it does we need to be compensated.
Here is an estimation of prices we’d need to be compensated for in case of loss. A lot depends on the type of equipment you have lost.
Paddle: US $75
Leash: US $35
Paddleboard: US $500 – US $1000
Surfboard: US $75 – US $500
In case of damage of equipment, we will need to estimate how much it will cost to repair the damage. We always use fair use policy here. If equipment breaks out of your control (for instance a leash breaks) of course we will not charge you for this. In the rare case we have damage to our equipment, it is because people hit a submerged stone or rock when exciting the sea. Or from storing the boards in direct sunlight.
In general fixing structural damage to a board will cost somewhere between US $5- and US $200.
FOR BOARD DELIVERY: You will get a full refund if you cancel at least 2 days prior to your delivery date. Any cancellations after that we will need to charge at least the first day of rental, excluding any delivery fees if applicable.
Any days cancelled during the rental period, we can refund any days left beginning from the 2nd day after we have received the request.
Please note: our cancellations policies apply to all cancellations and no shows REGARDLESS THE REASON. In case of COVID symptoms please stay home and contact us immediately.
