5 Reasons We Always Go With A Guide

At Aloha Paddle Club we do our Caribbean tour with a guide when paddleboarding SUP Playa del Carmen, instead of just renting our boards by the hour to people. Even though we understand that for some of you it seems more tempting to just grab a board and go do your own thing, we believe that going in a group, with a guide, in the end, is the best way to do our thing, whether it’s our normal tour or when doing SUP Yoga.

1. Safety first | SUP Playa del Carmen

Your safety is our main concern. We operate on the Caribbean Sea which is a whole different ball game when it comes to paddleboarding in a safe and responsible way. There are many things to keep an eye on currents and winds, rocky parts of the beach, changing weather patterns, boats, and ferries, and even rip tides. Besides having water rescue training, we know our sea and we’ll make sure you’re SUP Playa Del Carmen adventure is fun and safe!

2. More fun in a group SUP Playa del Carmen

For us Stand Up Paddle Boarding is a great way to do exercise and enjoy the outdoors. It is also an amazing way to spend time with friends, family, and people you have never met before. It is not the first time that friendships or even relationships came out of paddling the sea together. We even welcome our first Aloha baby, so you never know who you’ll bump into. Maybe the love of your life…?

3.  Tips and tricks while you’re at it

If this is your first time standing on a paddleboard, we will include a short introduction giving you all the basics when it comes to stand-up paddleboarding. We won’t overload you with info and will continue to guide and instruct you while we’re on the water. This way it is a lot easier to give you the tips you need in order to paddle and stand up.

4. We can go even when conditions are a bit more challenging

Nothing more likely to change than the weather in Playa del Carmen. We get lots of nice sunny days with a flat sea and no wind. Easy to learn. Especially during the winter and spring season wind can pick up here. Many times we see people who just rented a board somewhere floating by on their knees, not knowing what to do and not realizing that you never want to go downwind first, since it will be a long and hard paddle back. If they make it back at all! Paddleboarding with Aloha means that we can go out even when the wind picks up because we will make sure you’re doing the right thing.

5. You’ll have the photo’s to impress your friends

We love taking photos of you, and we’re pretty proud of them. Because you go with a guide who brings a GoPro, you can focus on paddle boarding and having fun, not having to worry about making pictures, and maybe ending up losing your camera. It’s not the first time…

We hope you’re convinced and understand why we prefer to let you go out alone. We won’t be babysitting you, and if you’re a bit more experienced you’re more than welcome to explore a bit on your own. But it’s good to know that there is someone out there keeping an eye out for your safety! We are the number one paddleboard provider on Tripadvisor for a good reason!
